The annual Woodruff Sawyer Board Education Resource Guide is now available. It lists a variety of continuing events for directors that are being hosted by leading universities and organizations across the US throughout 2021. Due to COVID-19, many of the events are being offered in a virtual format, often for a reduced cost.
The Board Education Resource Guide includes the dates, locations, and costs of can’t-miss events for directors to expand their knowledge, exchange ideas with other directors, and network in 2021.
These include:
- Online learning resources like webinars, podcasts, and blogs
- Short, no-cost or low-cost events
- Board-level multi-day events
- Committee-level and subject-matter events
- New events centered on trending board-level issues
- Customized learning experiences
Continuing education is an integral part of being a good director, and given the impact of recent world and national events, staying well-informed is now even more imperative. The issues that impact boards and the companies they serve continue to evolve. Woodruff Sawyer outlined a number of these topics in our recently released Looking Ahead Guide, including the impact of COVID-19, the latest in large-settlement breach of fiduciary duty suits, Section 11 developments, ESG, and Politics in the Boardroom. These topics and more will no doubt be the subject of intense conversation at board continuing education events in 2021.
Finally, remember to contact your Woodruff Sawyer account executive (or me) if you are interested in customized training for your board of directors. Customized training is often one of the most efficient ways for directors to get up to speed on the current board topics of the day. Woodruff Sawyer offers this service to our public company D&O insurance clients for no additional charge.
