Larry has more than 35 years of experience specializing in surety services for the construction industry. During his career, Larry has handled national and international construction accounts as well as those of local San Francisco Bay Area contractors. At Woodruff Sawyer, he is in charge of surety operations for the firm’s North Bay office located in Novato, CA.
Larry began his career in Chicago with the Hartford Insurance Company before moving on to national broker Frank B. Hall & Company (Hall), where he served as vice president of surety operations in Chicago. He transferred to Hall’s San Francisco office in 1980 as head of its surety operations. Eight years later, Larry joined Holtemann, Ord, and Smith (HOS), a regional broker specializing in contractors, where Larry eventually became partner. In 1998, HOS was purchased by national broker USI Corporation, and Larry became head of USI’s surety operations for California.
Larry is involved in various construction associations, including the Engineering and Contractors Association, Beavers Inc., Associated General Contractors, and Engineering Contractors Association.
Larry received his bachelor’s degree in finance from the University of Illinois.
