This past year I once again had the great pleasure of presenting at the Woodruff Sawyer hosted retreat held at the Pasea Hotel in Huntington Beach, California. While having it next to the ocean, at a breezy and hip hotel was great, it was the audience that I found to be most memorable. They were engaged, joyful, and inquisitive. It was like speaking to friends. I connect the most powerful women in finance - elevating and keeping more women in chief leadership roles.
I started a community of female leaders in finance, at a time in my life when I had two toddlers at home and a father in hospice care … and a big, full time job that required me to commute two hours a day.
I was fried.
During this time, the women in my personal life circled around me - holding my children, dropping off casseroles…you know the drill. Professionally, it was a whole other story.
That’s what got me thinking - How can we women support each other with as much gusto professionally as we do in our personal lives?
Through intimate events, exclusive business content, small gatherings, and tight-knit groups of female CFOs - members have chosen to thrive professionally through connections with one another.
Oh and that big, full time job? That’s where I am honored to partner with my amazing clients at Woodruff Sawyer, helping them strategically create employee benefits and risk management plans to protect their companies.
You can often find my husband, John, and me chasing our two children, CC and Jack, on the trails and playgrounds of Marin County, California.
