Chris Scheffler

Chris has been in the insurance risk management industry since 1990, and has worked with numerous industries, including bio-technology, pharmaceutical, manufacturing, healthcare, information processing, food and beverage, distribution, higher education, hi-rise, real estate, hospitality, not-for-profits and others. Property loss control experience includes conducting physical risk assessments and advising clients on solutions to reduce exposures from fire, earthquake, flood, burglary, wind, hail, collapse, liquid damage, explosion and other perils.

He provides property loss control, and business continuity planning advice to clients worldwide. Chris is experienced in all phases of business continuity planning, including, business impact analysis, development of resumption plans, and facilitating exercises.

Prior to joining Woodruff Sawyer, Chris was founder and president of a risk consulting firm, providing business continuity planning, supply chain risk management, natural hazards risk assessment, and risk improvement planning services. In this capacity, he provided technical oversight on the property loss control programs for several clients, and coordinated the activities of Field Consultants worldwide. Prior to that, he served as an account engineer and field engineer for FMGlobal for 10 years.

Chris is a Certified Business Continuity Professional, a Certified Supply Chain Risk Manager, and on the board of directors for the Business Recovery Managers Association. Chris earned his bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Colorado State University. Publications include, “Stay Profitable by Telling the World about Your Business Continuity Plans”, Disaster Recovery Journal, and “Natural Hazards Modeling for Business Continuity Professionals”, Continuity Insights.
