Patrick Cagney

Patrick has over a decade of experience in management and professional liability, both in the commercial private and public sector along with a more recent focus in the financial institution space.

He works with clients to create and implement alternative risk financing programs best suited for each company’s needs, and he specializes in exposures for complex companies, situations, and transactions. 

Patrick’s primary focus is to help clients understand and effectively manage or transfer risks specific to their business. Recognized as a natural communicator, he becomes an extension of clients’ teams to better understand their culture, risk tolerance, goals, and objectives to design and implement successful risk management and insurance programs. 

Prior to Woodruff Sawyer, he worked at RT Specialty running the financial institutions team, and has held positions at Aon and Chubb. He has a deep and specialized knowledge of all financial lines products, including public and private D&O, EPL, Fiduciary, Crime and Fidelity, Network Security and Privacy, and E&O.

Patrick has a bachelor's degree in history and minor in Spanish from Saint Louis University.
