Annual Stanford Directors' College quickly approaching

The 19th annual Stanford Directors' College is quickly approaching. This event, which will take place June 23-25, is one of the oldest and most prestigious programs for directors and senior executives. This is the premier event in the country when it comes to updating and educating these professionals on the challenges faced by publicly traded companies.

This year's event features a multitude of high-profile speakers from both publicly traded corporations and government agencies, giving attendees the chance to gain valuable insight from some of the most watched executives and directors. Confirmed speakers include Bill Campbell, chairman of Intuit; John Donahoe, president and CEO of eBay; Marissa Mayer, CEO of Yahoo; and Richard Parsons, chairman and CEO of Time Warner. Other highlights will include speeches from Chief Justice Myron Steele of the Supreme Court of Delaware and Commissioner Elisse Walter of the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.

Attendees will also have the opportunity to listen in on the D&O panel, which I'll be moderating this year. One of my panelists is Jim Kramer, a partner in securities litigation and regulatory enforcement at Orrick. He has a long history defending companies and boards in shareholder class action suits, derivative suits and regulatory proceedings so his expertise on corporate governance and disclosure concerns is directly on point. My other panelist is Kevin LaCroix. Best known as the author of the famous (and excellent!) "D&O Diary" blog, Kevin is an executive vice president of RT ProExec, a division of RT Specialty, LLC. He is an expert in the D&O insurance realm, having been involved in the industry for more than 30 years. These highly regarded panelists guarantee that the D&O liability panel will be an informative session and valuable addition to the event.
