Woodruff Sawyer expands casualty expertise with the addition of Evan Hessel as Casualty Practice Leader

Woodruff Sawyer announced today the addition of Evan Hessel, Vice President and Casualty Practice Leader. Evan brings a wealth of experience and expertise in large Casualty consulting and risk placement, and is known as an industry leader in developing strategic solutions and creative alternatives for clients’ Casualty needs.  Prior to joining Woodruff Sawyer, Evan was a Managing Director and West Coast Casualty Leader for a large National Broker. “Woodruff Sawyer’s reputation for client advocacy and creativity is unparalleled,” said Hessel. “I could not be more excited to join a team with such depth of client-focused resources and technical expertise.”

Evan will be responsible for expanding the current Casualty platform and capabilities, succeeding Chris Kakel, SVP and Partner. Since joining Woodruff Sawyer, Chris has elevated the firm’s Casualty capabilities and managed some of its most complex clients.

The addition of Evan allows Chris to continue focusing on his client work, and provide strategic input for the advancement and growth of the Casualty Practice. “Our Casualty Practice has enjoyed rapid growth in recent years. I’m excited to have Evan join our team and add to the depth of our expertise,” said Kakel.

Woodruff Sawyer is committed to continued growth through a combination of specialization, expertise, and fierce advocacy for its clients.  This allows for the development of current team members as well as the addition of new colleagues, creating more opportunities for both.  “We are thrilled Evan is joining our team,” said Woodruff Sawyer CEO Andy Barrengos. “His alignment with our culture and values, along with his proven leadership and expertise, make Evan a great fit for our firm”.
