Woodruff Sawyer today announced that Vice Chairman Stan Loar has been appointed to the World Federation of Insurance Intermediaries’ Board of Directors. Established in 1999, the WFII works to implement solutions to reduce trade and regulatory barriers in the international insurance marketplace.
“This is an exciting honor for me as well as for Woodruff Sawyer because we share the same passion for excellence and integrity in insurance,” said Mr. Loar. “I’ve come to know them as an organization that stays ahead of the curve and is committed to increasing international trade opportunities. I’m looking forward to sharing ideas with some of the world’s leading insurance minds.”
Agenda items for the next meeting include increased regulatory scrutiny, broker disclosure and compensation, consumer education, and the challenge of placing multinational business insurance programs to meet with the tax and regulatory requirements.
Mr. Loar joined Woodruff Sawyer in 1976 and served as the company’s Chief Executive Officer for 12 years prior to transitioning to Vice Chair in 2008. He will be one of four Board Members representing North America at the upcoming meeting in Rome.
