Woodruff Sawyer announced today that Judy Roberts, Senior Vice President and Partner at the firm, has been named as the 2011 Chartis Broker of the Year. The award is given to one broker annually who has made outstanding contributions both within and outside the insurance community.
Judy was honored with this award for her work in building Woodruff Sawyer’s Directors’ & Officers Liability practice. Under her leadership, Judy grew the firm’s D&O Practice from a small, three-person group to one of the most well-known, respected organizations for management liability services and consultation in the nation. She was also recognized for her invaluable contributions as a board member of the PLUS Foundation, the charitable foundation for the Professional Liability Underwriting Society.
The award is announced each year at the Chartis Executive Liability Conference. It is given in memory of Sal Tieri, an insurance industry executive who died on September 11 in the World Trade Center attacks. In conjunction with the Chartis Broker of the Year award, a donation in Judy’s name was given to the Wounded Warrior’s Fund, a non-profit organization that provides funding for wounded veterans to participate in athletic activities.
“I am so pleased that Judy has been honored with this award,” said Charlie Rosson, CEO of Woodruff Sawyer. “She has been instrumental in developing not just our firm’s D&O practice group, but setting a standard of quality and professionalism for the industry as a whole.”
