Featured Podcast: Boardroom Governance with Evan Epstein
There is a ton of content for directors and officers interested in corporate governance. Sorting through all of it can be time consuming. Also, most of us are getting a little tired of all-day webinars—am I right?
Podcasts, if well done, can offer a useful alternative. Boardroom Governance with Evan Epstein is a good example if you are looking for a deep dive into current topics. Evan is the Executive Director of the Center for Business Law at the University of California, Hastings College of Law.
For example, Evan and I recently had a long conversation for his podcast on topics ranging from SPACs to enforcement actions against private companies to federal forum provisions and, of course, D&O insurance.
Evan makes these conversations fun and also gets quickly to the meat of serious and topical corporate governance issues. His own bona fides as a corporate governance expert inform his questions and the conversation.
Other recent episodes include a deep dive with Christopher Young, the Global Head of Contested Situations at Jefferies Group, on how shareholders holding less than 1% of ExxonMobil ended up putting three climate activists on the board.
There are also two podcasts with fan favorite Professor Joe Grundfest of Stanford Law School, the most recent of which includes topics ranging from DeFi to what Professor Grundfest refers to as the “Miracle of Unconstitutional Legislation,” California’s AB-979 law on board diversity.
I invite you to listen to my conversation with Evan, and also check out Evan’s conversations with other guests for more informative discussions from some of the leading corporate governance thinkers and leaders.
